Sunday on the Web, there were a ton of Facebook cell phone gossips. Facebook says it is not true. With all the craze over Smartphone’s right now, it would just make good sense to rival Apple’s iPhone and Android phones for Facebook t hat has 500,000 members to support it. Although Google has taken over everywhere, there was no accomplishment with the Nexus One. Worse things happened for Microsoft with its Kin. Facebook previously looked into getting a Facebook phone. Right now, it entirely denies building a cell phone though. Some think that the Facebook phone would die off fairly easily since it would not be needed by numerous. Numerous think that Facebook should be working on the little things before getting its own development platform. For example, numerous think Facebook should work on its apps on all Smartphone’s.
What to expect from a Facebook phone
There was one place the Facebook cell phone story started. That place was TechCrunch. Michael Arrington wrote that Facebook is secretly building software for a phone and working with a third party manufacturer, just like Apple does with the iPhone. A developer in June left the Google Chrome project, and nobody knew why. Arrington thinks he was more interested in the Facebook cell phone project. He thinks many may be interested in a reasonable phone for Facebook. The cell phone would allow users to call their friends’ names instead of their cell phone numbers.
Facebook rumor
The Facebook phone could be the latest rumor about the company’s intentions that comes to nothing. Facebook told CNET that its priority was deeper integration with existing Smartphone’s, not building its own. CNN reports that Facebook is well-known for leaking ideas, but the business either scraps them outright or pursues a completely different tangent. There was never set forth the music service that is intended to compete with MySpace music that was expected to emerge have gossips in 2008. Another competitor idea that never took place was “Facebook Wallet.” Facebook was expected to compete against PayPal. Instead, Facebook announced earlier this year that it would partner with eBay’s PayPal to offer a transaction service called Facebook Credits.
Facebook cannot compete
. The concept of a Facebook phone is ridiculous. Abell claims it is “the tail wagging the dog”. A Facebook cell phone isn’t something that people would want over their original phones. These people want their Androids and iPhone still. Robert Scobe thinks Facebook really needs to just be working on developing apps. He is from Business Insider. He talks about all the deficiencies the phone would have. He also talked about Facebook’s platform. He talked about how the platform needs fixing first. The 500,000 users Facebook has are its only real advantage. The other businesses don’t have that.
